Mar 9, 1964 — Oct 4, 2021
Charlottesville
Michael Douglas Comer of Charlottesville, VA passed away at the University of Virginia Medical Center on October 4, 2021. Mr. Comer, age 57, was born March 9, 1964 in Denver, CO. The son of Douglas L. and Julie K. Comer, he grew up in Minnesota with his two brothers, Mark and Matthew Comer. Above all else, Mike was a proud and devoted father. He leaves his son Michael D. Comer II and daughter Meghan K. Comer.
Those who knew Mike remember him for his warmth, kindness, and generosity. He loved the outdoors, spending much of his free time hiking, kayaking, biking, and camping—often with his dog. Mike was an avid lifelong learner and passionate about baseball, hockey, and whatever his kids were interested in. He had a strong devotion to his faith in Jesus Christ.
Before moving to Charlottesville in 1988, Mike was a tournament director for the LPGA Futures Tour. In Charlottesville, he held senior management positions in the real estate development, private club, and customer service industries, and was deeply involved with his children's school and sports teams.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Park Foundation.
