Obituary

Nancy Coiner Beverage, 83, of Waynesboro, Virginia, died peacefully on March 2 nd , 2022, at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Virginia after a short and hard fought battle with lung cancer.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John David Beverage in August 2007.  Her Father, Ray White Coiner, in 2001.  Her Mother, Helen Virginia Coiner in 2008.  Her sister, Peggy Davis, in 2020, and her sister, Shirley Gladwell in 2021.

Surviving are her son, Gary L Coiner and wife Tammy of Stuarts Draft, her daughter, Michele Beverage Smith and boyfriend, Lane Dedrick, of Waynesboro. Her daughter, Stephanie M Beverage and husband, David Burnett of Waynesboro.  She is survived by a brother, Richard R Coiner of Panama City, Florida, a sister Gloria Bost of Winnsboro, SC, and a sister, Beverly Walters, of Staunton.  Also surviving is her special close friend, James A (Jimmy T) Plunkett of Waynesboro.  Also, her new puppy Gypsy.

Nancy is survived by her grandchildren; Jason L Coiner and wife Stephanie of Fredericksburg.  Amanda N Coiner of Stuarts Draft, Brian Coiner and wife Courtney of Stuarts Draft, Douglas A Musgrove of Stuarts Draft, Michael J Smith and wife Jennifer of Churchville, Samantha Powell and husband Kolby of Crimora, Justin Robertson of Verona.

Nancy is survived by her adoring great grandchildren, Courtney D Smith, Brayden M Smith, Carter A Coiner, Abigail L Coiner, Braxxton L Powell, Adlee Mae Powell, Ezekiel R Robertson, and Levi J Robertson.

Nancy was a 1956 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School.  She was a Master Governmental Treasurer for the City of Waynesboro from 1978 – 2005, when she retired.

She became an active Moose member, where she held many titles.  She also competed (and won) in weekly pool tournaments.  She traveled to Nashville Tennessee a few times a year.   Nancy loved to flat foot, listen to bluegrass music, and socializing.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shenandoah House in Fishersville, Virginia.

There will be a visitation and celebration of life, Saturday, March 12 th at 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Verona Moose Lodge, 1501 Commerce Avenue, Verona, Virginia.
