Nancy Mackey Oliver, 82, of Waynesboro passed away peacefully at her home with her husband by her side on Monday, July 21, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her son, Kenton Lee Mackey, two sisters, Anna Belle Wilson and Emma Lou Wilson and a brother Roy "Buzz" Mackey.

Nancy was born in Highland County on March 11, 1943 to Howard and Margaret Mackey.  She was a graduate of Monterey High School and was employed by G.E./Genicom for 35 years.  Nancy loved styling hair for her friends and family whom she loved immensely.  She enjoyed the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she made many close friends and considered them family.  Baking cakes for family and friends to enjoy, she was also a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Oliver, daughter-in-law, Mari Mackey; Bill's son, Chris and his wife, Kelly Oliver; Bill's daughter, Sarah and her husband, Kevin Lyster; grandchild Lindsay Mackey; Bill's grandchildren Claire Oliver, Morgan Oliver, Will Oliver, Zachary Lyster, Cecelia Lyster; grandniece, Jillian Marshall, brother-in-law, Bill Wilson, niece, Karen Wilson Marshall and Tom, as well as nephews, Clarence Wilson and his wife Stephanie and Howard Wilson.

The visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 3PM to 5PM at McDow Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 11:00 AM, at the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 6410 Lee Jackson Hwy, Steeles Tavern, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, 1001 Mt Torrey Road, Lyndhurst, VA, 22952 or to the SPCA of your choice.
