Pauline S.
Lawhorne
Jan 10, 1940 — Nov 11, 2021
FISHERSVILLE
Our sweet mother, grandmother, sister, and friend left us to be with our Lord on Thursday,
November 11, 2021. Pauline S. Lawhorne was preceded in death by her mother, Majorie R.
Willis; her father, Willie T. Sharpe; her other mother, Nell P. Sharpe; her grandmother, Alma H.
Rhinehart; her husband, Marion C. Lawhorne; her brother-in-law, Frederick S. Mundy and her
brother, Rodney W. Willis.
Pauline was a graduate from Waynesboro High School. She was employed by General Electric
and later became a legal secretary for Poland, Carwile & Ricketts. While she loved her job and
took great pride in doing her best, her true legacy was her love for God, her family, and her
friends. She had a special gift of making her home a beautiful, welcoming place for family and
friends to congregate creating many happy memories.
Pauline is survived by her two daughters, Elisabeth "Lisa" Kyle and Renae Deffenbaugh; her
son-in-laws Jon Kyle and Jeff Deffenbaugh; three granddaughters, Samantha Elisabeth Kyle,
Jori Scott Baker and Alexis "Lexi" Deffenbaugh Ramsey; her granddaughters' spouses, Travis
Baker, Justin Ramsey, and special friend, Josh Brackin. Pauline was totally captivated by her
great granddaughter Presley Grace Baker, the daughter of Jori and Travis, who brought so
much joy and light during this difficult time for all of us.
In addition to her love for her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughter, Pauline was
also connected at the hip to her sweet sister, Gloria S. Mundy. You rarely saw one without the
other as their bond was unusual and beautiful. Pauline also mothered and loved her amazing
brothers; Quentin Willis, Larry Willis and David Willis. She also enjoyed her brothers' spouses
and bonus sisters, Janet, Sharon and Vicky. Pauline was also a second mother to her many
nieces and nephews that held special places in her heart.
