Phillip Randall Forehand, 80, a longtime resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday April 26, 2021 at Augusta Health.

He was born February 7, 1941 in South Norfolk, VA, a son of the late Phillip W. Forehand and Vera Dare (Swanner) Forehand.

He started his ministry in 1961, preaching in Ohio and Charlottesville, before spending 45 years at West Waynesboro Church of Christ. He retired in 2009.

Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Judy Forehand of Waynesboro; sons, Jonathan "J.D." Forehand of Waynesboro, and Jeremy Forehand and wife Erin of McGaheysville; daughter, Leigh Anne Hagwood and husband Geff of Forest, VA; grandchildren, Kellan Rice and husband Jon, Graham Hagwood, Milah Hagwood, Athan Forehand, Randall Forehand, Taylor Vest, Ava Forehand, and Penelope Forehand; brother, Frank Forehand and wife Joyce of Toana, VA; and sister, Barbara Amos of Atlanta, GA.

Graveside services will be private for the family. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday April 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at West Waynesboro Church of Christ, officiated by Mark Ford.

Phil was a caring person. If you were up or down, lonely or just needed a friend, he would often send a single yellow rose just to show he cared. And so, in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you purchase yellow roses to give to those you care for.
