Ralph "Buddy" Wilson Cash, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Birch Gardens Assisted Living.
He was born July, 19, 1935 in Montebello the son of the late Albert Lee and Littie Bradley Cash.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Shirley Lee Cash; siblings, Hazel Grant, Helen Campbell, Beatrice Fauver, Hunter Ramsey, Leitrice Carr, Rachel Moyers, Reginald Cash and his twin brother Raymond "Jimmy" E. Cash.
Buddy was a member of the Vesuvius Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, a proud veteran and a member of the V.F.W Post 2216 in Staunton. He attended Spottswood High School, then joining the Army in 1956 and was member of the 82nd Airborne completing his service in 1959 and then being employed at Crompton Manufacturing in Waynesboro for 20 plus years and then going to work at Virginia Metalcrafters.
After retirement he and his brother started working at Sugar Loaf Farm. Buddy and Jimmy had a special bond and were inseparable. Buddy enjoyed family vacations to the beach, Nascar racing, baseball games and fishing at the river. He coached little league baseball and loved watching his grandson's play on their baseball and football teams.
Buddy was a devoted husband, father and dearly loved his grandchildren.
Surviving family are son, Michael S. Cash and wife Rebecca; daughter, Cindy Wenger and husband H.L.; grandchildren, Cameron Ellis and husband Nic; Weston Cash, Derek Wenger and wife Shannon; four great grandchildren, Kaison and Reese Ellis, Hudson and Brady Wenger; brother in law, Aubrey G. Cash and wife Mary; sister in law, Thelma June Cash, Glenna Cash; nieces, Tammy Peeling, Alisa Cash, Tonya Doyle and Windy; Cheryl Wolfe; nephew, Leon Cash and wife Tammy; Tom Doyle and wife Mary Jane, Randy Wolfe and wife Sandi and many other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon Monday, January 27, 2025 at Vesuvius Baptist Church officiated by Herman Burch. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m.
A private burial will follow the service.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Marsh, the staff of Birch Gardens and Hospice of the Shenandoah for the special care given to Buddy.
