Richard Edwin Hodge, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday July 7, 2024 at Sunnyside Assisted Living in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

He was born March 8, 1932 to the late Elbert Lee and the late Nina Elizabeth (Williams) Hodge in Pax, West Virginia.

Predeceasing him are his wife of 62 years Lois Jane (Maynard) Hodge; brother, Emerson Lee Hodge; three sisters, Leona Hall, Clotiele Belveal and Doris Miller.

Richard served in the United States Navy as an Electricians mate and spent time on The USS Missouri BB63 an Iowa-class battleship.  Richard retired from the Veterans Administration and was Past Master of Elmer Timberman Lodge 54 in Annandale, Virginia. He also attended Waynesboro Lee Lodge 209 and Staunton Masonic lodge 13.  He was admired by all who came in contact with him.

Surviving him are daughters and their spouses, Theresa and Gary Klimovich, DeAnna and Harry Clayton and Orquida and Dan Ingraham; grandchildren, Adam, Jonathon and Laura Clayton.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday July 16, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park with a Masonic service.  The Navy will conduct the Military Honors.
