Robert Ernest Preuss, 78, a resident of Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

He was born January 30, 1944 in Manhattan, New York, a son of the late Ernest Preuss and Edith (Pickersgill) Preuss.

He served his country faithfully with the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Preuss of Waynesboro; children, Laura Johnson of Waynesboro, Virginia, and Donna and Mark Kornhaas of Arizona; 4 grandchildren, Lucas Johnson, Mark Kornhaas, Jr., Stephanie Orser, and Britney Kornhaas; 1 great-grandchild, Lauren Kornhaas; his sister, Edith Poole of New Jersey; and sister-in-law, Virginia Delia of New York; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 PM until 8 PM Thursday evening, January 12, 2023, at McDow Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will follow in the chapel.

A private family Liturgy will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church by Fr. Matthias Lusembo.
