Robert Lewis Zakaib, Sr. 67, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home surround by his family.

Robert (Rob) was born on September 21, 1953 in Danville, IL to the late Charles Lee Zakaib, Sr. and Madelon Patton Zakaib. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Lee Zakaib, Jr. Surviving are his son, Robert (Robbie) Lewis Zakaib, Jr., and partner Christina Renea Cobos and grandson Patrick Allen Zakaib and brother Joseph Patton Zakaib; nephew Michael Kirkpatrick Zakaib all of Waynesboro, VA. Niece, Zoey Lynn Zakaib Fahner (Edward Fahner), Mount Crawford, VA. Nephew Charles Lee Zakaib, III and wife Gwyneth Dickey Zakaib and grandnieces, Madelon (Maddi) Louise Zakaib and Rhoslyn (Rosie) Alys Zakaib of Springfield, VA.

Robert was a 1972 graduate of Waynesboro High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College. Robert worked for Baugher Chevrolet as a Service Technician for many years and at Brooks Auto and Truck Repair Center for 28 years. At General Motors Training Center and The National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence, he was certified as a Master Technician in all areas of automotive repair and specialized in Advanced Electrical, Fuel Injection and Engine Performance.

Robert loved his family and friends. He was a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge and enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, camping, movies, and music.

A private family service will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro, VA.
