Ronald Patrick
Romeo
Feb 26, 1939 — Jun 11, 2023
Waynesboro
Ron Romeo, age 84 passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Hospice Center of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, VA. He was surrounded with an abundance of love from his wife Linda and his children, Paul Romeo and Susan Cosca at his side.
Ron was born on Feb. 26, 1939 in Massena, NY to Patrick and Germaine Gagnon Romeo.
Ron lived a long life with service in the US Army from 1959-1965. He retired in 1995 from Graybar Electric Company in Baltimore, MD and moved to Charlottesville, VA where he met his wife Linda of 20 years. They eventually moved to Waynesboro, VA where he was able to do what he liked doing best, "working on multiple, never-ending projects". He was an accomplished self-taught carpenter in which many of those "projects" will forever be cherished. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed horseback riding for many years. He was also a sports enthusiast and willing to try anything that came his way.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda Bedner Romeo, son Paul (Ledi) Romeo, daughter Susan (David) Cosca, step-sons, Milio (Annie) Curcio and Christopher (Stephanie) Curcio. Ron had a beautiful and rambunctious flock of grandchildren within this blended family; Lauren and Samuel Cosca, Rosalie Romeo, Emil, EJ, Avery, Owain, Ariel, Everest, Atlas and Phoenix Curcio, and Evan Henderson. He loved them all dearly and had his own special touch with each and every one of them.
Ron was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Waynesboro, VA where a funeral Mass will be held on June 16, 2023 at 12:00 pm with visitation for family and friends at 11:00 am.
Ron's family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at UVA NNICU and Hospice of the Piedmont, who gave the most professional and incredible care during this most difficult period. In lieu of flowers please consider any donations be sent to Hospice of the Piedmont at hopva.org or 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
Ron leaves a legacy of many one of a kind stories as he was a one of a kind man. We will miss him dearly.
