Ronnie Lee Ritchie, 87, departed this world on February 3, 2025. He was born on October 6,1937 in Mint Spring (Augusta County), Virginia.  Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Basil G. Ritchie and Rubye L. Harris Ritchie; sisters Betty Maul, Barbara Brownlee and Mary Sue Bates; brother Charles Ritchie and wives Gayle Marie Johnson Ritchie and Lucy Jean Graves Ritchie. He is survived by sisters Peggy Andrew (Richmond) and Patsy Kestner (Greensboro).

Ronnie is survived by sons Tim Ritchie (Sharon) of Richmond and David Ritchie (Kathy) of Waynesboro and daughters Terry Wimer (Roger) of Waynesboro and Joan Burner (Jerry) of Luray.

The family includes nine grandchildren; Tim's children Hannah Ritchie and Kent Ritchie (Meg), Terry's children Lindsey Hopewell (Matt) and Kelly Shea (John), Joan's children Jared Burner (Holly), Johnny Burner (Tracy) and Rachel Burner (Jon) and David's children Travis Ritchie(Kayla) and Jeremy Ritchie (AnnMarie).

Of course, no family is complete without great-grandchildren. The eight precious hearts are Addison Hopewell, Brogan Hopewell, Azure Shea, Adaline Sours, Kimber Ritchie, Paisleigh Ritchie, McKinley Cloonan, Austin Ritchie and Griffin Ritchie.

Since the early 1950's, Ronnie was the owner of Ronnie Ritchie Service Company, mechanical contractors, in Waynesboro. He was also actively involved as a real estate investor in Waynesboro and Augusta County. As a master craftsman at many trades, his true hobby was purchasing and renovating commercial buildings. He would like everyone to know, for the record, he was still working at the time of his death and never officially RETIRED!

When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time at his horse farm in Fishersville, playing one of his handmade guitars and singing with his childhood friend, Reginald Farr.

As a lifelong supporter of the SPCA, Ronnie would have preferred donations to the SPCA in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2025 between 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Augusta Memorial Park.
