Sandra "Sandy" (Ballard) Jones, 75, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Tuesday morning, August 30, 2022 at Shenandoah House.

She was born December 22, 1946 in Hinton, WV, a daughter of the late Tom and Margie Dean Ballard.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, and held a special place in her heart for her "granddogs", "grandcats", and loved collecting owls. She "never met a stranger" and loved to talk to anyone for hours.

Sandy loved taking cruises and antiquing. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was talented in these hobbies.

Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, Ronald Lee Jones; son, Shawn Jones and his wife Jennie of Radford, VA; daughter, Kim Jones of Waynesboro, VA; brother, Michael Ballard and his wife Susie of Pipe Stem, WV; a number of nieces and nephews; and dear friends and neighbors, JoAnn Estes, Susie Patterson, and Bonnie Shifflett.

A graveside service for all family and friends will be held Thursday September 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Augusta Memorial Park.  Following the service, family and friends are invited to share fellowship at the Fishin' Pig restaurant in Waynesboro. Appetizers will be provided.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Augusta Health Hospice and Shenandoah House of Augusta Health for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, it is kindly asked that memorial contributions be made in Sandy's name to Shenandoah House of Augusta Health, 111 North Campus Lane, Fishersville, VA 22939.
