Sanford "Glenn" Grove, 85, of Fishersville, Virginia, went to his heavenly home on April 22, 2026. Born on October 29, 1940, Glenn lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and a deep love for agriculture and community.

Glenn was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. He was raised on the Carflo Farm in Waynesboro, where he grew up farming, raising hogs and cattle. From an early age, he developed a passion for agriculture. Glenn was an active member of the 4-H Club and proudly showed steers and pigs in the annual 4-H/FFA Fat Stock Show for many years.

He dedicated over 49 years of service as a Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) Supervisor, a role in which he was known and respected throughout the farming community. Glenn retired in 2008, leaving behind a career defined by commitment and integrity. He was also an active member of the Fishersville Ruritan Club for many years, where he enjoyed fellowship and service to his local community.

A faithful servant of God, Glenn was a devoted member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. His faith guided his life and shaped the way he treated others—with kindness, generosity, and a smile.

Glenn enjoyed farming, keeping a close eye on the weather, and cheering on his favorite teams, including the Washington Redskins/Commanders, the Washington Nationals, Virginia Tech football, and the excitement of March Madness. He loved gospel and country western music and was a faithful viewer of RFD-TV.

On June 6, 1965, Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Crickenberger Grove. Together they shared nearly 61 years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, devotion, and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl William Grove; his mother, Florence Yagel Grove; and his sister, Carolyn Flo Grove.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Barbara Crickenberger Grove; his daughter, Arlene Grove Parker, and her husband, Chadwick, of Fairfax Station, Virginia; and his grandsons, Ryan Michael Parker and Benjamin Paul Parker, of Arlington, Virginia. He is also survived by his brother, Cleon Jacob Grove of Fishersville, Virginia; his sister, Elta Mae Andrews, and her husband, Darryl, of Greensboro, North Carolina; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Crickenberger, and his wife, Loretta.

Additional survivors include nephews Brian A. Crickenberger and his wife, Kristen, of Grottoes, Virginia, and Robert Andrews of Jamestown, North Carolina; and nieces Karen A. Comeford and her husband, James, of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, and Jill C. Paulin and her husband, Joshua, of Centreville, Virginia.

Glenn will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steady presence, deep faith, and lifelong dedication to family and farming. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the values he passed down to future generations.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. Both will take place at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Avenue, Waynesboro, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Brian Crickenberger, Benjamin Parker, Ryan Parker, Bobby Coffman, Jon Chapman and Paige Holder.
