Scot
Mckenzie
d. Feb 24, 2025
Waynesboro
Scot McKenzie, 64, succumbed to his battle with cancer Feb. 24, 2025.
He was born in Tennessee to Madolyne H. and James F. McKenzie, Jr.
The family moved to Waynesboro in 1968 when Scot was a child. He called Waynesboro home for the rest of his life.
Scot worked as a groundskeeper/mechanic at golf courses for most of his adult life and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed tinkering with machinery and turning "trash" into something useful. He also enjoyed fishing, but never wanted to keep the fish he caught, as he loved wildlife and the outdoors. In fact, he was known to have saved quite a few animals from certain demise.
He was a father of three and was immensely proud of their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Michelle, Rachael and Eric; brother, Stuart and his fur buddy Floyd.
There will be no public service.
For those so inclined, donations may be made to Shenandoah Hospice or to the Wildlife Center of Virginia.
