Shari Amber
Davis Wilbur
Dec 23, 1963 — Dec 20, 2025
Waynesboro
Shari Amber Davis Wilbur left her Earthly life on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 in Fishersville, VA. She was 61 years old.
Shari was born on December 23, 1963, in Waynesboro, VA, to the late John Davis, Jr., and Beverly Wilcox Davis.
She graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1982, where she was in the Beta Club and played in the band. Shari was a junior volunteer at Waynesboro Community Hospital. For most of her working life, she worked at Wintergreen Resort as an administrative assistant, being hired in 1989. She was very fond of her co-workers and continued to keep in touch with them after her departure in 2020. Shari was a previous member of the Waynesboro Jaycees, where she volunteered her time.
Shari was a huge fan of music, from Meatloaf and KISS to Phantom of the Opera and Disney tunes. She always had a love for Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Stitch. Most days, you could find her wearing her favorite characters around, bringing a smile to everyone's face.
In addition to her father, Shari is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Glayds Wilcox, her paternal grandparents, John Davis, Sr., and Ruth Becker Davis, uncles Gordon Davis and Richard Davis.
Shari is survived by her mother Beverly; sister, Robin Bower (Kenton); her daughter, Caitlin (Willie Ashford III),; her niece, Stacey Shipe (Jamie); grandchildren, Malakii K. Winston, Nassier I. Miller, and Kordae E. Winston; aunt, Carole Newton and her uncle, Bobby Davis (Janis); great niece and nephews Ryan, Emma, and Colby Shipe. She leaves behind very special friends who were more like family to her: Joyce Lippens, Sarah Kelly, Blake Painter, Jordan Winston, Devin Miller and numerous cousins.
There will be a gathering on December 29, 2025, from 6-8 pm at McDow Funeral Home. All are welcome to come and celebrate Shari's life. There will be no formal services, and the family will spread her ashes privately, per her wishes.
In place of flowers, donations would be welcome in her memory to the American Cancer Society: P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or the Waynesboro First Aid Crew: 201 W. Main St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
The family would like to express our sincere thank you to the nurses at the Augusta Health Cancer Center for always treating Shari with kindness and compassion. You all truly made her trips there much more comforting.
