Sharon Garrison, age 70, was born on November 17, 1954, to the late Ernest "Big Ern" and Nellie Carter Floyd. Sharon passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, in Waynesboro, Virginia surrounded by the people she loved.

Sharon lived a life flourished with laughter, compassion, dedication and an unwavering care for others.

At the heart of Sharon's life was her family.

Sharon was the devoted wife of Richard Garrison, her steadfast partner through life's joys and challenges. Together, they built a life grounded in love and family.

Along with her husband, she leaves behind her two beloved daughters - whom she considered her world, Heather Fisher and husband Mac, Heidi Quick and husband James; five grandchildren - who brought immense joy to her days, Brett Cook and wife Brooke, Destiny Dolin, Dakota Dolin and wife Anna, Matthew Farrar and wife Kelsey, and Brayden Farrar; and seven great-grandchildren - whom she cherished, Kayson, Tate, Wrenley, Caroline, Jonah, Lachlan, and Grant.

In addition, she is also survived by two brothers, Gary Floyd and wife Doris, Mike Floyd; sister, Brenda Coffey and husband Wayne; sister in law, Vonda Floyd; and her special friend Gail Fravel, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members - all of whom will miss her warmth, humor and gentle heart.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Eugene Floyd; nephew, Matt Floyd; and great-niece, Olivia Floyd.

Sharon dedicated many years of her life as a Certified Nursing Assistant in hospice care. Her gentle presence and compassion made her a favorite among patients; many of whom specifically requested her by name - a testament to the unconditional comfort she brought to others. Her work reflected her deep empathy and commitment to supporting those in their most vulnerable moments.

Above all, Sharon's greatest pride was her family - she was the heart and soul of hers. Among her most rewarding joys was being a mother and wife, but her most treasured title was "MawMaw." She embraced these roles with warmth and honor. Her love for being a grandmother was evident in every moment she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - whether through boisterous laughter or quiet comfort, a weekend camping trip or a warm meal around the table. Sharon created spaces where laughter thrived and bonds grew stronger. Her family would collectively agree, without hesitation, she was their Rock - the core foundation of their unit.

Sharon's legacy lives on through every life she touched. Those who knew Sharon will remember her as silly yet strong, nurturing yet fierce - someone whose love anchored generations. She left her footprint on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her - she will be endlessly missed and forever cherished.
