With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ted Eugene Jenkins, 69 of Waynesboro, Va. The beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, and granddad, who left this world on September 15, 2024, at his residence. After a life filled with boundless love, laughter, and passion for riding his Harley-Davidson and taking care of his family. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, unwavering kindness, and dedication to his family. Ted touched the lives of all who knew him, he will forever be cherished in our hearts and his legacy of warmth will continue to shine.
Ted was born on September 8,1955 in Germany, son of the late Charles Andrew and Wilma Lambert Jenkins. Ted was retired with more than 35 years with Waynesboro Public School Board. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Mary Jane Crosby his mother-in-law, his sister Jackie Jenkins, sister-in-law's Sharon Farly, Terry Jenkins, Penelope Crosby, and Karen Hirtriter. A special friend William "Bill" Perry.
Surviving are his wife Debbie Sue Jenkins of Waynesboro, Va, daughter Tabitha Shaunt'e Poindexter (known as his twin and pride & joy), his grandson's Kawan and K'Shawn McCarthy of Waynesboro, Va., brother's CA (Diane) Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, of Middlebrook, Va., Fred Jenkins of Staunton, Va., sister's Terry Jane Farris of Staunton, Va. and Donna Kaye Fisher of Las Vegas, Nevada, sister-in-law's Gloria Rowe of Staunton, Va, Diane Sprulock of Crimora, Va., Terry Crosby of Staunton, Va., brother-in-law Paul Heiskel Crosby of Crimora, Va., Special niece Lisa Shelton (Christy) of Staunton Va., along with a special friend Charlie Wolfe of Dooms, Va. and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Special thanks to Legacy Hospice for all the love and care that you showed for my dad, especially Ms. Diane. We could not have made it without you. Along with Sam Lee for speaking on behalf of my dad. Sam has been a great friend of our family, which we love and appreciate dearly.
Ted's Celebration of Life will be October 12, 2024, at McDow Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that Memorial contributions can be made to McDow Funeral Home, 1701 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
