Thomas Elwood Woodson, 68, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, passed away July 7th at Fishersville.

A son of the late Roy Elwood Woodson and Mary Sue (Toombs) Arrington, he was born February 26, 1953 in Covington, VA.

Tom loved his family and friends and was deeply loved in return. He was passionate about improving our community, especially helping the less fortunate. Tom contributed electrical work to The Wayne Theatre and for two Rotary-sponsored projects in Staunton parks. He enjoyed attending many Rotary events such as an international convention and numerous District conferences. Tom and his wife traveled internationally with Rotary to the Caribbean and Australia.

Tom was a humble and gentle man. Despite his humility, he took pride in the impact his skills had on his clients' lives. At 15, he began learning electrical work in high school and continued for 53 years. Notably, he used his expertise to add lighting to a locomotive display in a park where he loved to play as a child. Whether he helped an entrepreneur open a new restaurant or a family relocate to a new or remodeled home, his work enabled a client to realize a dream or to take a major step forward in their lives.

Surviving are his wife, Diane (Godack) Woodson of Waynesboro; sons, Timothy Lee Woodson of Springfield, Ohio, and Joseph Bradley Woodson of Waynesboro; brothers, Gregory Woodson of Clifton Forge, Steve Woodson of Stuarts Draft, James Woodson of Clifton Forge, Terry Woodson of Goshen, and Andy Woodson of Goshen; sister, Julie Woodson of Goshen; and many wonderful cousins that he held close to his heart.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on July 15 at the Chapel at St. John's Catholic Church.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am on July 16 at St. John's Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Rolo Castillo. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Wayne Theatre or St. John's Catholic Church Building Fund.
