Vanessa Renee Martin, 51, a resident of Staunton, VA, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the University of Virginia Hospital.

She was born December 27, 1970 in Waynesboro, VA.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, such a loving person and loved by so many. She will be greatly missed.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her father and mother, Carl Lee Martin and Stormy Gale Martin; and a granddaughter, Amelia Cook.

Surviving are her children, Brittany Marie Rivera, Alexandra Rodriguez, Horacio Martin, and Toby Martin; 5 grandchildren, Mason Rivera Martin, Melonie Rivera Martin, Yanelia Rivera Martin, Erick Rivera Martin, Jr., and Ivan Rivera Martin; 3 sisters, Carla Martin and her family: Leeleanna Steward and Joshua Thomas, Mary Loya and her family: Carl Loya, Daniel Loya, Jacob Loya, and Chano Loya, and Sandra Monjes and her family: Hollie Monjes, Luis Monjes, and Erick Monjes; and cousin, Marsha Burnett Lutz.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, March 3rd at McDow Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Friday March 4th at 1:00 PM in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Glen Holman. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
