Velda Massey Zirk, 84, of Fishersville, VA, was born on January 22, 1939 and passed away Monday, November 20, 2023.

She was preceded in death by S. E. Zirk, her beloved husband of 52 years, her parents, Albert and Edna Clark Massey, sister Barbara Moneymaker O'Baugh and brother Ronald Massey.

Velda and S. E. farmed together in Fishersville for 52 years until his passing in 2009. She continued the family farm for another 14 years until her passing. Velda drove a school bus for the City of Waynesboro for a number of years. She graduated in 1956 from Wilson Memorial High School where she played basketball and was a majorette.

She is survived by nephews and wives Ricky and Kay Moneymaker and their daughter Heather and Michael and Martha Moneymaker and their sons Christopher and Ryan, and a close family friend Sadonna Coffey.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
