Virginia "Kitty"
Coffey
Dec 25, 1942 — Nov 13, 2020
Stuarts Draft
Former Virginia resident Virginia Katherine Coffey, 77, died November 13, 2020, at her residence on Howardsville Turnpike. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and closest friends.
Kitty was born on December 25, 1942 in Doe Hill, VA, to the late Lloyd and Ressie Botkin.
Kitty was a well loved and extremely dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who we all know never met a stranger or said an unkind word to anyone. She was not only passionate about her job with the Augusta County Schools, of which she drove for 23 years, but also for her school children of whom she held very dear to her heart.
Kitty is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Coffey, her sons Billy Coffey and wife Tara and David Coffey and wife Lindsey; five grandchildren Tyler, Kyle, Colby, Caitlin, and Bryson; a great grandson Bentley. She is also survived by sisters Frances and Myrtle; brother Stanley; a very special niece and caregiver Karen Fitzgerald; a very special sister-in-law Jo Carr, both to whom we are extremely grateful.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Lee, Leo, Vernon, Daryl, Bobby, and sister Janet.
She will be honored at McDow Funeral Home with a family night on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and a gravesdie service on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Mt. Paran Baptist Church located in Vesuvius, VA.
Pallbearers are Tyler Coffey, Kyle Coffey, Colby Coffey, Larry Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Joseph Bryant, and Terry Coffey. Honorary Pallbearers will be family and friends in attendance.
Thank you to everyone for your visits, phone calls, thoughts, and prayers. We are truly blessed. Due to current guidelines, please wear a face mask.
