Paul Wilson Rankin, 75, a resident of Staunton, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Augusta Health.

A son of the late Paul William Bell and Lucy (Rankin) Lessley, he was born May 22, 1940 in New Hope, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy F. Rankin; and son, Stanley Rankin.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Bessie Edmond of Verona, Linda Chandler and her husband Harry of Staunton, Brenda Coffey and her special friend Wayne Miller of Staunton; 4 grandchildren, Lila Buchanan and her special friend David Figgins, Troy Johnson, Jr. and his wife Brittany, Amanda Thompson and Leon Kelly, and Kevin Coffey; 20 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Lessley and his wife Mary of Staunton; sister, Barbara Jones and her husband Tod; half-sister, Peggy Morelock and her husband Harry of Grottoes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday evening, April 17, 2016 at McDow Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2016 in Oak Lawn Mausoleums and Memory Gardens officiated by the Rev. Warren Knott.
