Obituary

Thomas LeRoy Bellamy, 82, of Waynesboro passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022.  He was born August 26,1940 in Staunton, Virginia to the late William P. Bellamy and Martha Alice Propst Massie.  Tom is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra; children Kathryne Kristine Brown (Mike) and Thomas Lee Bellamy (Vicky); grandchildren Andrew, Paige, and Evan Bellamy and Amber Brown; half-sisters Jan Werner and Vonda Leffler.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert William Bellamy.

Mr. Bellamy graduated from Waynesboro High School and served his country in both the U.S. Navy and U. S. Air Force.  He was employed by the City of Waynesboro fire Department for 33 years as an engineer, fire instructor, and public education specialist.  He played Santa Claus for many years and enjoyed talking to people on any subject. Tom was a deacon, elder, and choir member in the Presbyterian Church, participating in the Meals on Wheels program and Disciples Kitchen.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge 209 AF&AM and a former Worthy Patron on OES Chapter 105 and was active in the boy Scout program.  Tom's hobbies included stained glass, leather work, woodworking, and collectibles.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.  A fireman's funeral will be held Friday, September 30,2022 at 10:00 am at Second Presbyterian Church conducted by Reverend Caitilin Hoy.  Active pallbearers will be members of the Waynesboro Fire Department.  Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park at 11:00 am with honors given by the Waynesboro Fire Department, U.S. Air Force, and Lee Lodge No 209.
